Google Level 1 & 2 Certification Prep

This two-day intensive, hands-on workshop is designed to prepare educators to take the Google Level 1 and Level 2 Certification exams. Over the course of the two days, workshop attendees will explore all of the core GSuite for Education tools: Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Forms. Furthermore, participants will get hands-on instruction and guidance through other important GSuite tools: YouTube, Google Calendar, Blogger, Google Site, Hangouts, and more! In addition, we will explore Google Chrome extensions and Google Add-Ons in the workshop to extend and amplify the power of the Chrome browser and G Suite for Education tools. Along with developing expertise with G Suite tools, participants will explore how these tools can be used to facilitate effective collaboration, formative assessment, research, lesson building, and instruction.

Who Should Attend

The workshop is designed for teachers, educators, administrators, technology directors, and technology coaches that already have a basic level of understanding of G Suite for Education and are looking to advance their skill set and become Google Level 1 and Google Level 2 Certified.

Please note, the Google Level 1 and Level 2 Certification exams will not be administered or taken within the context of the workshop. Workshop participants will prepare over the two days to register and take the exams independently through the Google Certification testing process.

Device/ App Requirements:

It is important to prepare your device with the appropriate installations as noted below and download the required apps before your workshop.

  1. Please make sure to bring your device (laptop or Chromebook) fully charged and updated to the latest operating system. You are encouraged to bring more than one device if you so wish.
  2. Many applications we will be using require a Google account. Please create a Google account and login before coming to the workshop. Please bring your Google ID and password account information with you. Even if you have a school Google Account, we also recommend creating a personal one, as some schools restrict faculty (and student) downloading of apps and tools. Please bring your school Google ID and password account information with you as well.
  3. While we do provide a list of apps ahead of time, you may be asked to download a new FREE app or update an existing one. Having your Google ID and password readily available will help minimize disruptions and enable you to get the most out of your workshop experience.

App Requirements:

As new apps and updates are continuously changing, a complete list will be published here and emailed to participants closer to the workshop.
